Quantitative Evaluation of the Clinical Evolution of Traumatic Onycholysis after Laser Treatment

Nail disorders are the most frequent reason for visits to podiatry clinic. Although they not a severe health problem, these types of pathologies have psychosocial impact on patients, affecting their self-esteem and leading social professional self-isolation that can cause anxiety depression. Laser therapy is considered potential treatment nail because it fast, easily applied avoids interaction with medication. However, literature includes no definitive studies scientific evidence about efficacy laser in traumatic onycholysis, clinical sign disorders. Objective: We carried out an objective quantitative study treating onycholysis provide new, non-invasive this pathology, describe method its evaluation evolution. Methods: A strictly repetitive protocol Nd:YAG 1064 nm (PinPointe FootLaser™, Spain) was nails idiopathic disorders, following manufacturer’s instructions.
